So what is your typical day like in Colombia?
Hmm...I wake up at around 8:30, I am usually
pretty free in the mornings, I read, or go out to visit people. Usually
when I check the internet it is in the mornings aswell. In the
afternoons we have study cirlcles starting from 2, then 4, then 7. Well
that is the current schedule... All in all right now we have about 6 or
7 study circles between me and my service partner Keivan. At nights i
usually hang out with people on the streets, just sitting and chilling,
talking to people about random things, improving my Spanish, or
dancing, yeah they do a lot of dancing here, everyone dances, it is
impossible not to.
Do you eat the same thing everyday? What do you eat? Do you cook? Do you buy it at resteraunt... etc...
Well I eat a lot of rice, chicken, the
chicken here is really amazing. They eat a lot of fried bananas, well
they are like gigantic bananas they call them platanos. Oh right and a
lot of beans.... Yes.. they are hard on the stomach. When we get bored
of this stuff me and Keivan usually wonder out and buy some hamburgers
or hotdogs... muhaha...-_-
What are the people like? Do they talk to you alot? Are they friendly? Mostly young people you hang out with?
They are extremly nice! Yes everyone
here talks to me a lot, they call my name from across the street, I
feel like a movie star everytime I walk back into my neighboorhood cuz
everyone knows me even if I dont know them. I hang out with everyone,
little kids, youth.. adults, old people... everyone haha its a whole
new experiance.
Anything different about the culture there that was new to you?
Well yes, the culture here is very different
compared to the Chinese culture. When I just arrived I was like... Why
isn't anyone working? or studying... People here are very chilled
out... I am used to living in the city, with people running around for
no apparent reason... So I was not really used to the slowness at
first, but now it is getting better. Just rural life in general....
I will answer the rest of the questions next time!
Miss you all!!!
So from now on, if you want me to update this thingy, send me an email with a list of questions you want me to answer, they can be about anything.
